Kinneret and Nazareth

Israel is a beautiful place for the nature lover and the tourists.

 It is a great experience that no one should ever miss it.

Drive south to the Kinneret area. A visit to the church of mount Beatitudes with spectacular views of the while Kinneret. The beautiful church that was designed and built by Antonio Barluzzi, Franciscan church architect. We will continue to go down towards Tabgha which means seven springs and we will visit the church of Loaves and fishes – German Benedict Catholic church, the miracle in which Jesus fed 5,000 people with five breads and two fish.

Our next trip is to the hometown of Jesus in the Kinneret is Capernaum. Capernaum sun is an ancient customs station. This is the only place in the world with the slogan “the hometown of Jesus”. Here he lived, gathered his 12 apostles according to the new testament, began to preach, and done many miracles such as healing the in-law of St. Peter the fisherman, his successor. Home of peter in-law of Christ according to the faith alive, there is now a modern church above it, and is a central site in the village with impressive synagogue in central building in the village from the Byzantine period but on the basis of a synagogue dating to the first century AD.

We will continue towards Tiberias and will tour the tourist town named after the roman emperor Tiberius, the adopted son of Augustus. The city was built by Herod Antipas, son of Herod the great who ruled the kingdom of the Galilee. We will tour the promenade and the few remaining relics from the crusader period.

We will continue to Jordan, the baptism site. This is the closest experience of the baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist. While the original venue is significant to the south, near the Dead Sea, but the water there are shallow, muddy and not always clean, that most Christians who want to dip and to experience baptism do it here.


Short drive tour to Kibbutz Kinneret representing the kibbutz movement, that began in the region and the kibbutz was founded in 1910 and is one of the first kibbutzim in Israel.

Traveling through Galilee to Nazareth, the hometown of Jesus, here he lived 30 years according to the Christian faith. Here was the home of Joseph and Marry and Carmel angle came to announce to the virgin Mary, because here she is pregnant and not from a man, as she is carrying the son of God. Above the cave which was their home, was built a Byzantine church that was destroyed and a crusader church was destroyed as well. This is the basilica of the annunciation. In the ceiling and pillars are made of unpainted concrete designed circles symbolizing the stars. Many countries have contributed icons, paintings and works of art with the image of the Madonna, as performances in their country.

We will also visit the nearby church of St. Joseph and is part of a complex that also includes Franciscan monastery, a hostel and a school. In church St. Joseph in the Crypt (bottom part), was found in the area of Joseph’s carpentry shop, and the image at the top, which symbolizes Christ work in the carpentry symbolizes the place more than anything.
